This year the Hagerty Radical Cup UK supported the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) for three rounds at Donington Park, Snetterton, and Oulton Park. An international round also made a return to the championship, with round four taking place at Circuit Paul Ricard. Round five takes place on the Silverstone GP Circuit, with the season concluding at Brands Hatch on the 14/15 September.

Introduced in 2023, the PRO SR3 and PRO SR1 grids have once again been combined to form the Hagerty Radical Cup UK, with each class crowning an independent champion at the season finale. With seasoned Radical drivers competing alongside a thrilling new crop of competitive drivers, the season promises to be an exciting spectacle.

PRO SR3 Class

Simracer turned real-life racer and Max Verstappen’s sim-racing partner, Valour Racing’s Chris Lulham has made a remarkable entrance into his debut Radical SR3 season, clinching 11 victories out of 12 races. Teammate Luke Hilton has stood on the podium multiple times this season and sits behind Lulham in the standings. Oscar Joyce rounds out the top three in his eye-catching graffiti art SR3 XXR.

Joining the championship for Silverstone will also be four drivers who have raced in the Gulf Radical Cup this year, including 2023/2024 National Class Champion Usmaan Mughal and Le Mans Prototype driver Ian Aguilera, who will be driving the PopBangColour art car recently unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. John Davies will be making a return too in his brand new SR3 XXR.

It’s not just the youngest who are making waves in the championship – John MacLeod is currently leading the SR3 Fangio (over 45) Trophy, closely followed by Peter Tyler, Jason Rishover, and Chris Preen; the quartet boast a combined 43 years of Radical racing experience between them. Adrian Hallmark is currently fifth in the championship in his first year of Radical racing.

PRO SR1 Class

It’s a close championship title battle between rivals Marcus Littlewood and Sam Shaw, with DW Racing’s Sam currently having a 16-point advantage over privateer Marcus. However, Marcus is closing the gap after taking all three victories, and a new SR1 lap record at Circuit Paul Ricard. James Hadley will make a return to the championship for round five after previous competing in the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

Qualifying is on Saturday morning for 30-minutes from 11:25, with race one at 15:30. There are then two races on Sunday at 10:10 and 14:30.
