The opening round marks the return of Radical’s continental competition after several years away, with a competitive grid of 17 drivers representing eight nationalities ready to fight for the first honours of the new championship.
The series signals the revival of Radical’s presence in Europe following the success of the Radical European Masters, which ran between 2008 and 2018 and visited some of the continent’s most celebrated venues. After focusing on expanding its global dealer network and regional championships in recent years, Radical is now bringing a renewed one-make prototype series back to Europe with ambitious plans for growth.
The inaugural Mugello entry list reflects the international appeal of the Radical racing ladder. Fifteen drivers from eight different nations will line up on the grid, with the field featuring several national Radical Cup champions and experienced racers. Their mix of experience promises a competitive opening weekend as drivers adapt to the new championship format and the unique challenges of Mugello.
Few circuits provide a more spectacular setting for the start of a new championship than Mugello. Nestled in the Tuscan hills north of Florence, the 5.245-kilometre track features 15 corners and a long 1.1 km straight, combining high-speed sweeps with technical elevation changes that challenge both drivers and engineers.
Originally opened in 1974 and owned by Ferrari since 1988, Mugello is widely regarded as one of the most picturesque circuits in the world and regularly hosts top-level events including MotoGP and international single-seater and endurance championships.
For Radical drivers, its flowing layout provides a perfect stage where aerodynamic grip and driver confidence are pushed to the limit.
The launch of Radical Cup Europe comes through a joint partnership between Radical Motorsport and Creventic, the Dutch organiser best known for running the international endurance racing platform, the 24H Series.
Founded in 2005, Creventic has built a strong reputation in global motorsport by organising professional endurance events designed around customer racing teams. Its events attract competitors from around the world and provide a well-established paddock infrastructure and hospitality environment.
By integrating Radical Cup Europe into Creventic race weekends, the championship benefits from an experienced organisational structure and the atmosphere of a major international endurance paddock.
