The dominant storyline of the season is the duel between reigning Radical Club Champion Gordie Mutch and former karting ace Cian Geraghty. Wins at Brands Hatch and Oulton Park currently give Mutch a two-point lead in the University of Derby Radical SR3, but Valour Racing’s Geraghty is proving a tough opponent. He has also won at Brands and has displayed an impressive consistency, having finished no lower than second place all season.
The pair will be fighting for clean air at the front, with two new international contenders drawn by the alure of Silverstone. Reigning Gulf Radical Cup champion, 18-year-old Harry Hannam, makes his UK debut with the UAE’s Gulf Sport Racing. Another making their British debut is 19-year-old US star Luke Kendall, who will be keen to impress. Kendall currently sits fourth in the Radical Cup North America series, and has made outings in the Radical Cup Europe this season too, all with Valour Racing.
Former Hungarian karting graduate Lena Galyo is set to join Kendall at Valour, after making her race debut at Donington Park at the end of the 2025 season.
North Motorsport’s Tom Hodge comes from strong third place finishes at Brands and Oulton, and sits third in the Championship in his what is his first year of car racing.
360 Competition’s Andy Lowe has also been contesting the Radical Cup Europe, most notably taking an outright win at Paul Ricard. In the Radical Cup UK he currently leads the Fangio Trophy (for drivers aged 50 and over) and is fourth in the outright championship. He most recently netted fourth in the last round at Oulton Park, his best UK finish of the season.
Shane Kelly has plenty of experience, but it’s a debut year in Radicals for his University of Wolverhampton team. A retirement at Oulton dropped him down to fifth on the table, after starting the season with a third place in the first of two races at Brands Hatch.
Tim Gray Motorsport’s Sam Venning was new to racing this year, and has come on in leaps and bounds. He sits joint fifth with Kelly in the points, and was sixth last time out at Oulton.
Having only made his race debut late last season, Valour Racing’s Byron Crawford is making steady progress. He hasn’t made the top six yet, but currently lies second in the Fangio Trophy and will be keen to keep improving.
John Macleod is by far the most experienced Radical driver in the field, mounting dual campaigns in the UK and Europe with RSR. He was Lowe’s chief rival last year on his way to the Fangio Trophy title, but was absent from the last round at Oulton. He’ll be keen to make up for lost time.
RJ Motorsport is by far the busiest team of the weekend, running seven cars. Matt Yard made his race debut last season and was fifth at Oulton, while Brian Huang also made the top six in race two at Brands.
Laura O’Connell debuted in last year’s finale at Donington, while Ross Board and Ian McDonald have both come through from the Club Challenge.
Scott Marshall and Ryan Lindsay are the only two-driver team, while Valerie Bachman takes time out from sharing with husband Pascal in the Radical Cup Europe, and will run solo this weekend.
Both DW Racing and Alex Fisher make their 2026 Radical Cup UK season debuts, as does Wesley Fongenie, who is back with 360 Competition.
