Preview: Best and fastest from the Radical world to meet in Barcelona to race for Radical World Champion title this weekend

Never in the near-three-decade history of Radical have so many leading drivers come together to race against each other, in the same car, on the same track, and in the same season as they have achieved their results. This year’s grid is sure to make for one of the most spectacular Radical World Finals events seen yet, with the winners of four of the most competitive Radical Cups lining up on the grid in Barcelona.

The Radical Cup North America is represented by 2026 championship winner Jonas Axboe, who sealed the title just a fortnight ago at the series’ final round at Circuit of The Americas. Coming from the UK is Gordie Mutch and Cian Geraghty, who are embroiled in a battle for the 2026 Finecut Radical Cup UK, which will be decided at Donington Park just seven days later. Representing the Radical Cup Europe is championship leader Marcus Littlewood, who is hot on the heels of championship wins in the Finecut Radical Cup UK in 2025 and the UK Radical SR1 Cup in 2024. His primary championship rival in 2026 is Sebastian Schou, the winner of the 2025 Radical Cup Scandinavia.

But these drivers won’t have it entirely their own way, with a full and eager grid behind them, keen to make their mark in the Radical world. Leading drivers from the Radical Cup North America, Finecut Radical Cup UK, and Radical Cup Europe will all go head-to-head in Saturday’s 30-minute World Championship race.

Jack Yang and Luke Kendall, both running with Valour Racing, are front runners in North America and making dual European campaigns, including the World Finals. They will be joined by American Radical stalwart Gregg Gorski in the turbocharged Radical SR10, who will take on Radical Sweden’s Peter Gustafson and Filip Svensson in the SR10 Class.

Sebastian Schou’s STEP Motorsport Radical Cup Europe teammate, Morten Strømsted, will head the challenge, fighting Radical Norway’s Erlend Juan Olsen, the RSR duo of Paul Denning and John Macleod, and 360 Competition’s Andy Lowe. Denning, Macleod and Lowe will be battling hard for the title of Fangio World Champion, with RJ Motorsport’s Jahid Fazal-Karim and Radical Netherlands’ Eddie van Dam also in for the hunt.

RJ Motorsport has a busy weekend, also fielding World Championship entries for Radical Cup UK competitors Lowen Stephens and Brian Huang, and Radical Cup Europe race winner Pascal Bachmann. Sam Venning is making his first international race appearance with Tim Gray Motorsport, joined in the garage by Clint Newman, with the Racestreaming entry of Jess Frandsen and Diego d’Ambra in the mix. The highly competitive Radical Canada Cup is also represented by Robert Burgess, Radical dealer and principle of Radical Canada East.

All eyes will be on track, but the Radical World Finals is just as well known for the off-track social scene. World Finals festivities get underway with the official Welcome Drinks after the driver’s briefing on Thursday night, with all entrants invited to the official Radical Cup Europe end of season championship party on Friday night. And on Saturday night the official Radical World Finals presentation banquet will be held at the W Hotel Barcelona, where the iconic Barceloneta beach plays backdrop as we crown our 2026 Radical World Champions.
