Petrovic entered the finale with Ludvig Bäck and Rasmus Hedberg both within 15 points of his lead. Across three races, the advantage shifted before second place in the decider secured the Vortex Performance driver his second title, following his first in 2022.

Danish driver Nicolai Nygaard Pedersen set the early pace at his home circuit, taking pole ahead of Petrovic, reigning champion Sebastian Schou and Hedberg. Bäck qualified sixth.

Pedersen converted pole into victory in Race 1, with Schou second and Petrovic completing the podium. With Bäck fourth and Hedberg fifth, Petrovic extended his advantage over both championship rivals.

Race 2 brought them back into contention. Pedersen took another victory, but Hedberg finished second and set the fastest lap, while Bäck took fourth ahead of Petrovic in fifth.

Heading into the final race, Petrovic led on 277 points, with Bäck 10 behind and Hedberg a further point back. With 30 points available for victory, all three remained in the title fight.

Hedberg moved to the front in the decider and kept the pressure on the championship leader. Petrovic stayed close throughout, crossing the line just 0.530 seconds behind in second and setting the fastest lap.

It was enough to secure the championship with 305 points, nine clear of Hedberg. Having led the standings since the opening round at Gelleråsen, Petrovic completed his season with a composed drive when it mattered most.

“Very happy of course. Thank you to the team for giving me a car and platform to win this Championship. I feel as if my driving has been as good as it has been during my time in Radical Cup Scandinavia and I am hungry for more,” said Petrovic.

Hedberg’s strong finish to the season earned him second in the standings, while Bäck completed the championship top three for Vortex Performance with 289 points.

Danish drivers impress at home

Pedersen’s pole position and back-to-back victories made him a standout performer at Jyllandsringen, while Schou returned to the championship for his home event and finished on the podium in all three races. Second in the opener was followed by third in both Race 2 and Race 3.

Their performances added a strong local presence to a finale that also offered an encouraging glimpse of the championship’s future in Denmark.

SR1 Cup points towards 2027

Erik Poulsen dominated the SR1 class, while an entry featuring several teams and newcomers from karting and other junior categories demonstrated the field’s growing depth. Just 0.101 seconds separated Marco Garst, Mads Kjelde Larsen and Charlie Jonasson in qualifying.

Jonasson arrived having already secured the 2026 SR1 Cup title in his first season of car racing after stepping up from karting.

Radical Cup Scandinavia plans to place greater emphasis on the SR1 Cup from 2027, providing a clearer route into Radical racing for younger and less experienced drivers before progressing to SR3 competition.

With STEP Motorsport now operating Radical Denmark and plans for more racing in the country, drivers, teams and customers will have a stronger local base. The Jyllandsringen entry, with new names and closely matched qualifying times, provided an encouraging foundation for that growth.
