Launched in 2008, iRacing puts you in the driver’s seat by allowing members to experience today’s newest form of competitive motorsport: virtual racing. iRacing is a fun, inexpensive and highly-competitive way for race fans and gamers to break a sweat by braking hard at the apex, while overcoming head-to-head racing challenges usually reserved for professional racers. All you need is a computer equipped with one or more USB ports, and a digital wheel/pedal, or gamepad backed by a high-speed Internet connection.
The emphasis on realism extends to the physics engine, providing drivers with a true-to-life experience of vehicle handling, tire wear, and aerodynamics. iRacing's competitive multiplayer environment enables users to race against real opponents, enhancing the competitive aspect of the simulation.
Professional and amateur racers alike use iRacing for training and practice, and the platform has gained recognition as a valuable tool for real-world drivers honing their skills. With its dedication to authenticity, cutting-edge technology, and a passionate community, iRacing has established itself as a premier destination for virtual motorsports enthusiasts worldwide.
The Radical SR8 was one of the first cars introduced on the iRacing platform over 15 years ago, and is now available as a free car in the basic package. In 2022 the new Radical SR10 was introduced and is now the car of choice for the official iRacing Radical Esports Cup series.
iRacing’s public racing is broken up into four Seasons per calendar year. Each Season represents a new opportunity for you to hit the track in public series up and down iRacing’s License ladders (A, B, C, D, or Rookie level) - each season gives you the opportunity to be promoted up to the next license level, and also be demoted to the previous class if you don't meet rating requirements to stay in your current class.
Seasons typically last 12 weeks (with the occasional 13-week Season depending on the calendar). Each week, every iRacing public series takes on a new track, with drivers looking to score the most points possible in public races across various series in order to earn a championship. When the clock strikes midnight on Tuesday, the track changes to the next one on the schedule for each series.
The iRacing Radical Esports Cup follows the iRacing season calendar, with a track selection by the RadicalSimRacing.com community and a Friday night race broadcast live on YouTube being the highlight of each week.
For the 2024 Season 1 the iRacing Radical Esports Cup is back with a new name, previously the iRacing Radical Challenge, and new logo to reflect the 12 real-world Radical Cup series around the world.
Tune in to watch the Friday night broadcast, 9pm (GMT) on 15th December…
